01 / OUR STORY

How Palmor began.

Palmor began with dog training and something we still enjoy today: spending time with dogs, getting to know them and learning from them.

After years working with dogs and their behavior, we wanted to create a place where we could care for them with their age, personality and relationships with other dogs and people in mind. That experience had taught us that getting to know a dog is the first step toward caring for them well.

We are Guillermo and Antonio: friends and collaborators on this project. We share that approach to our work. At Palmor, we bring together our experience in training and veterinary care with our enjoyment of spending time with dogs every day. We also understand what it means for families to leave their dogs in someone else’s care: they need to know who will be with them and trust that they will receive the attention they need.

Over time, the project grew alongside the families who trusted us with their dogs. Boarding, daycare, transport and professional care joined our training services. Today, we are in Guadalajara and at Palmor Bahía Resort, serving Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas.

At both locations, we continue with the same idea: get to know each dog, treat them with patience and respect, and help them feel safe, calm and well accompanied while they are with us.

Founder of Palmor.

Specialist in canine behavior and well-being · 12 years of experience

I’m Guillermo, founder of Palmor and a specialist in canine behavior and well-being. I have 12 years of experience working with dogs, both in their care and in training. During that time, I have met dogs of all ages, with very different temperaments and needs. That has taught me to take the time to get to know each one.

I really enjoy spending time with dogs and understanding how they behave. In my work, patience and observation matter as much as knowledge: they help me understand what each dog needs and how to work with them respectfully.

At Palmor, I help direct and develop our locations in Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta–Bahía de Banderas. I work with the team on boarding, care and training, with particular attention to safety and wellbeing. I know the trust involved in leaving your dog with us, whether for a stay or to work on their behavior, and I take that responsibility very seriously.

University of Guadalajara graduate

I’m Antonio, a veterinarian who graduated from the University of Guadalajara. I have worked in clinical care and with dogs, cats and exotic animals, including patient care and emergencies. That experience has taught me to observe carefully and consider the needs of each animal.

At Palmor Bahía Resort, I take part in the operation and supervision of the hotel. My focus is on keeping each dog safe, comfortable and well cared for during their stay. My veterinary training and experience with dogs of different personalities are part of what I bring to the team every day.

When you entrust your dog to us, I know you are also entrusting us with someone very important to you. That is why I want to get to know them, understand their personality and respect their pace. As well as meeting their daily needs, I want them to find companionship and feel calm while they are away from their family.
